Connect the PoE Injector to the AC power socket using a power cord.
Now connect PoE In to PC and PoE Out to the device.
Warning
The MPE will only be considered compliant if the operating distance exceeds 250 cm, as dictated by the measured power levels.
Connect the Ethernet LAN cable to the Desktop/Laptop.
Go to Control Panel> Network and Internet settings> Set up a new connection.
For the initial setup, establish a wired Ethernet connection between your computer and the device. Use a Power over Ethernet (PoE) cable for connectivity. This ensures a stable and reliable link for configuration purposes.
You can access the device through the EnGenius Network Mobile App or a wireless laptop connection. After configuring the basic network settings, search for wireless devices on the network. The default SSID is EOC655<last two digits of ethernet MAC>
, and the default passphrase is eoc@1234. Ensure you connect via the 2.4GHz Radio Interface.
After successfully establishing a wireless connection, the device becomes accessible via a Point-to-Point (PTP) or Point-to-Multipoint (PTMP) link across the network.
To access the device settings, follow these steps:
Ensure your PC is connected to the device.
Open a web browser of your choice.
In the browser's address bar, type 192.168.1.1 and press Enter.
When prompted, enter the default login credentials: Username: admin/ Password: admin
HTTP
The HTTP-based Web interface provides a straightforward method for configuring settings and viewing network statistics from any network-connected computer. Access is possible through LAN, the Internet, or by directly connecting an Ethernet cable to the computer's Ethernet port.
SNMP
This device supports configuration, management, and monitoring through the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP). SNMP is a protocol for managing devices on IP networks by collecting data on network-attached devices, including error reporting and user statistics.
SSH - admin
The device can be accessed through CLI using ssh-admin, LAN, or even with an Ethernet cable connected directly to the computer’s Ethernet port.
To log on to the device using telnet:
Confirm that your computer has IP connectivity with the device.
Use SSH client with username as admin.
Log on by entering your username and password. The default login credentials: Username: admin / Password: admin
It is recommended to change default passwords after your first login to the device
To change the password, click Management > Services> HTTP > Admin password/ Root Password.
Note that only an admin has the right to change the password.
The username and password are case-sensitive. If you enter an incorrect password, a message is displayed stating that the password is incorrect.
SSH - root
Secure Shell (SSH) is essential for establishing secure and encrypted connections across the network. It utilizes a secure channel for data exchange between two network devices. For authentication purposes, administrators must supply a combination of username, password, and port number.
