Access points in the network will be automatically discovered by the EWS switch and will be listed under the AP(s) Detected list in the Access Point menu.

  1. Select the access point(s) you wish to manage and click Add.

  2. You will be prompted to assign the IP Address under the IP Assignment screen.

    Auto-Configuration

DHCP: You can choose to auto-assign IP address if there is a DHCP server in the network.

Static: If you wish to manually assign the IP address, choose Static. Enter the IP address you wish to assign to the AP and fill

    IP Address

When “Static” is selected, enter the IP address for the Access Point.

    Subnet Mask

When “Static” is selected, enter the subnet mask for the Access Point.

    Default Gateway

When “Static” is selected, enter the default gateway for the Access Point.

    Primary DNS Server

When “Static” is selected, enter the primary DNS server name.

    Secondary DNS Server

When “Static” is selected, enter the secondary DNS server name (if necessary).

  3. Click Apply and the access point(s) you’ve configured will be moved to the managed list. Note that the status of the AP will change from Connecting to Provisioning to Online. Once the status turns Online, your Access Point(s) have been successfully added to the Managed list.

Note: If the status shows Incompatible Version, please check to make sure that the firmware of the access point and switch are compatible.
